Northern Yarra Weed Action Group

Working together to control invasive weeds

The aim of this program is to reduce the growth and spread of weeds such as blackberry, especially across property boundaries, by working together with all land owners and managers in our region, including our government agencies.

The program features a number of ways we can support landowners in their action to control invasive weeds, from financial assistance, contractor discussion and planning through to subsidised training in the use of restricted herbicides and free access to the equipment required to treat invasive weeds effectively.

Thinking about your weeds?

We are seeking your cooperation to help us identify infestations in your area, to let us know if you are having success with invasive weed control on your property, or to discuss difficulties you may be having.

Watch the video below to find the inspiration you might need to take action, then send us a message.

Our program started in 2012 with the support of the Victorian Blackberry Taskforce, and continues thanks to funding from the Australian Government’s Communities Environment Program.
